Mara Gleason

Mara Gleason

Mara Gleason is one of those fortunate people who knew what she wanted to do with her life from a very young age. After observing a profound and rapid transformation in her father when she was 11 years old, she was determined to discover where he’d been and what he’d learned that allowed for his change. It seemed both intriguing and impossible that people could realize something, rather simply and quickly, that would fundamentally change them. Upon learning there was a growing group of professionals sharing basic principles that illuminate the innate well-being and potential within people, she declared: “When I grow up, I’m going to do what those people do.” The last 17 years have been a journey of discovering these basic principles for her self and working to propagate an understanding of their application to individuals, families, organizations and corporations. She truly sees that these principles have the potential to change the way we think about the human mind, well-being, and what’s possible for human endeavor.

After obtaining a Master’s degree from Columbia University in 2006, Mara moved to La Conner, Washington to work for Pransky & Associates, an organization that was one of the initial pioneers in these basic principles. In her four years there, she rose quickly from intern to junior to senior consultant, and moved to New York to act as the Director of a New York-based branch of the company. In working with a wide range of executives, organizational leaders and social entrepreneurs she was struck by how many times she heard the question, “Why doesn’t everyone know about this?” In January of 2010, she and her colleague, Aaron Turner, decided to found One Thought, a company dedicated to developing more professionals in this field and working with innovative leaders to allow for more and more people throughout the world to know about this and it’s potential to transform individuals and organizations.

Genpo Roshi Merzel

Genpo Roshi Merzel

Genpo Roshi Merzel is a revolutionary in the tradition of the old Zen Masters who so embodied Buddhist teaching that they were able to revitalize and transform it for their own day and age. As the Buddha Dharma moved from India to China to Japan and other Asian cultures, it found unique expression in each culture that made its fundamental teachings resonate for a new time and place. Genpo Roshi is working to transmit the essence of the Buddha’s teachings in a way that is readily accessible to Westerners and relevant to our everyday life.

The core of Genpo Merzel’s teaching is the unshakable and contagious certainty that every one of us, regardless of our socioeconomic, cultural or religious background, can instantly awaken to our true nature, like the great masters of old — like the historical Buddha himself, whose essential teaching was nothing less than this. This experience helps us shed anxiety and fear and learn to live more purposeful, compassionate and joyful lives. Roshi combines Zen tradition with the insights of such visionary western figures as Carl Jung, Fritz Perls, and Hal Stone, enabling virtually anyone to realize their true nature, a realization they can further deepen through meditation.

Born in Brooklyn NY, he grew up in Southern California where he was both a high school and college champion swimmer and All-American water polo player. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Economics from California State University at Long Beach and a Masters degree in Education from the University of Southern California and was a teacher and lifeguard before ordaining as a Zen monk under Zen Master Taizan Maezumi in 1973. Completing formal Koan study in 1979 he became Maezumi Roshi’s second Dharma Successor in 1980, the first being Zen Master Bernie Glassman. He received Inka (final seal of approval as Zen Master) from Zen Master Glassman in 1996, thereby becoming one of a small group of Westerners recognized as lineage holders in both the Soto and Rinzai Zen traditions.

In 1982 Genpo Sensei began teaching throughout Europe and founded the international group he named the Kanzeon (Love and Compassion) Sangha, now centered in Salt Lake City, Utah, with affiliates in France, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, Germany, England, and Malta. He has fourteen Dharma Successors, and has given Inka to eight Zen teachers making them Zen Masters. For eleven years, until 2007, he was the President of the White Plum Asanga, the worldwide community comprising all the Dharma heirs of Taizan Maezumi Roshi, their successors, and the many groups they lead.

Genpo Roshi Merzel is currently conducting workshops throughout the world. His publications include The Eye Never Sleeps, Beyond Sanity and Madness, 24/7 Dharma, and The Path of The Human Being, and many DVD’s. His latest book, Big Mind/Big Heart: Finding Your Way, published in 2007, is also being published in translation in the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Russia, Poland, France, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, and Bulgaria.

Rich Litvin

Rich Litvin, is one of the world’s most exclusive coaches. He works with no more than five personal one-on-one clients a year and his clients are by invitation or referral only. His coaching is highly personalized and tailor-made for each individual client and ranges from $40,000 to $250,000 a year.

An expert in deep, natural, inner confidence, Rich is the founder of The Confident Woman’s Salon – a select and elite group of highly empowered women.

Rich’s clients are exclusively women who are already powerful and passionate, confident and successful. Women who have already achieved a great deal in life. And women who – despite a track record of success – still have bold, outrageous or “Impossible” goals ahead of them…

Like the Olympic Athlete, struggling with her blocks around money and selling calendars at $19 a time to fund her Olympic bid… A single coaching session with Rich and within 24 hours she had raised $40,000 of corporate sponsorship.

And the mother of two who dreamed of the billionaire entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson, writing the forward to her book and becoming President of her organization. He has just agreed to do both.

And the woman who built the confidence to turn down a job offer of $350,000 because they wanted her to work on Fridays – the day she spends with her 5 year old son… (They later came back and met her terms).

And the coach who just signed her second ever paying client for $160,000. He paid her in full; in advance.

My gifts to you are as a transformative soul coach, healer, thinking partner and luminary who loves working with people in their journey of spiritual awakening, I uncover and awaken a person’s true magnificent essence, illuminating your brilliance and assisting you to live your true, authentic and purposeful life.

My own story is about a life unlived until I recognised the message the universe was sending me; to live a life of purpose and passion and follow my joy.

My Spiritual journey began when held hostage in Baghdad for 5 months in the lead up to the gulf war. I was held at gunpoint, with the butt of an AK 47 machine gun pointed at the base of my spine for 12 hours by a 14-year-old boy soldier. Although horribly shaken when I returned to my old life I failed to recognize the gifts of life I had been given.

In 2003, 3 major Al Qaeda bombs went off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia close to our hospital compound. These bombs were targeted at expatriate workers and designed to create havoc and maximum devastation. During a 60-hour marathon I led the hospital team to save the lives of the 145 wounded brought into our ER at a time when we were in fear for our own lives. Sadly a number of the injured and 35 dead were hospital staff. Life had just waved a big red flag signaling ‘Attention’, Again, I walked away from the invitation of the universe to cross the bridge of my own spiritual evolution.

Guy Fawkes Night November 2005, I witnessed the stabbing of my best friend, Kate. I intervened between her and her attacker wrestling the knife off him enabling her to escape. Kate was stabbed 31 times. My actions saved her life that night. Eight weeks later I had my 6th miscarriage in 4 years, then my partner walked out of my life for good.

My life was filled with unremitting pain, anger, hurt, abandonment, betrayal, sadness, rejection and terror. I was empty inside. I felt I had lost everything. Yet the universe kept sending me a consistently loud message; you are alive…., YES YOU….YOU ARE ALIVE; wake up and live your life’s soul purpose. I started asking myself the larger questions; ‘Why has all of this happened? What is my life really for? What is my true life’s purpose?

I awakened to the fact that all I have experienced in my life has been in service to my growth. I chose to stop being a ‘victim’. Instead of being angry and outraged at life’s injustices I used my energy to gently and lovingly heal myself. I choose to step into my own power and purpose and live a truly authentic life. Now I live from a place of unconditional loving kindness, hope, light, peace, joy and happiness, in touch with my inner wisdom, understanding and compassion.

The miracle of our existence is truly precious and thus my intention for you is that you savor every moment of, and every breath in your life.

‬Coaching, my true vocation, is one of life’s greatest satisfactions and joys. When I do what I was born to do, life is a magical playground of contribution and profound self-expression that enables me to bring forth my unique gifts and contributions into the world. I delight in sharing what I have learned from my evolution so you do not have to go through what I did in order to recognize that you can choose to live to your magnificent life magnificently!
